Influence of surfactants on a pre-adsorbed cationic layer: Removal and modification
نویسندگان
چکیده
Removal of organic species from solid surfaces is a crucial process. The use oppositely charged surfactants provides potential method for enhanced removal. Neutron reflectometry has been used to investigate the complex behaviour pre-adsorbed and tenacious layer cationic surfactant didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB) on mica surface, during exposure different in solution. anionic sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) was shown be able remove layer, but only if micelles were present To facilitate comparison with non-ionic surfactant, direct adsorption pentaethylene glycol monododecyl ether (C12E5) also studied; low surface coverage seen at critical micelle concentration above. C12E5 then found not did include into some degree. presence however significantly modify surfactant.

Adsorption and structure of the adsorbed layer of ionic surfactants.
Our goal in this study was to investigate theoretically and experimentally the adsorption of ionic surfactants and the role of different factors in the mechanism of adsorption, the adsorption parameters and the structure of the adsorbed layer. We used available literature data for the interfacial tension, sigma, vs. concentration, C(s), for sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) in three representative s...
متن کاملRemoval of cationic surfactants from water using clinoptilolite zeolite
Batch and column experiments were conducted to evaluate the efficiency of a clinoptilolite zeolite as an inexpensive sorbent material to remove cationic surfactant from water. With an initial surfactant concentration greater than its critical micelle concentration, the removal of surfactant is achieved by admicellar sorption onto the zeolite surface. Although the sorption capacity of hexadecylt...

critical period effects in foreign language learning:the influence of maturational state on the acquisition of reading, writing, and grammar in english as a foreign language
since the 1960s the age effects on learning both first and second language have been explored by many linguists and applied linguists (e.g lennerberg, 1967; schachter, 1996; long, 1990) and the existence of critical period for language acquisition was found to be a common ground of all these studies. in spite of some common findings, some issues about the impacts of age on acquiring a second or...
